Description

Quantum theory of strings in Higgs Abel model is studied. It is shown that the obtained theory within the limit of infinitely thin strings passes into the effective theory studied by Polchinsky and Strominger where there is no conformal anomaly. Complete theory of strings we have succeeded to obtain has no tachyons within the spectrum and thus, really exists within four-dimensional space-time. 14 refs
