Effects of main-sequence brightening on the luminosity evolution of elliptical galaxies

Description
The brightening of stars with main-sequence lifetimes longer than the age of the galaxy has significant effects on the evolution of the integrated luminosity of model elliptical galaxies. Analytical and numerical models that treat dwarfs as unevolving may lead to misleading results, possibly even underestimating the rate at which the integrated magnitude becomes fainter
