Some remarks on the quasiperiodic variation mechanism at accreting magnetized objects

Description
A hydrodynamic instability in the polar cap of an accreting neutron star or a white dwarf is considered as a possible cause of quasiperiodic light variations. Simple relationships are derived wich exist between observable parameters of accreting stars and bursts
