Description

In present investigation, an effective thermomechanical treatment (TMT) was developed to improve the mechanical properties of rolled 1100/7075 Al alloys laminated metal composite (LMC), with a great emphasis on the aging behavior of 7075Al. Microstructural evolution during different thermomechanical methods and their effect on mechanical behavior of Al/Al LMCs were studied. The result shows that superior combination of strength and ductility was achieved for Al/Al LMCs through rolling and aging. Compared to warm rolling, cold rolling had a significant improvement on mechanical properties after aging treatment, resulting from the high-density dislocations, increased microstrain and refined grains. Besides, anisotropy behavior of Al/Al LMCs fabricated by different TMTs was investigated and correlated with texture analysis. Evaluation of tensile test along the various orientations revealed that cold rolling process resulted in the enhanced anisotropy behavior, which was attributed to the formation of considerable rolling texture components and enhanced texture intensity after cold rolling.
