Beam gas effects at HERA ep collider

Creators

Description

The lepton-hadron interaction at HERA is beneficial in exploring the Standard Model and beyond, but a rather poor vacuum in the proton ring manifests background processes. One of the largest background sources at the ep HERA facility at DESY is proton beam, residual beam pipe gas interactions. Beam gas rates, a new empirical Monte Carlo describing beam gas production and the consequences of some run time triggers regarding background are investigated
