Chronopotentiometric investigation of the Eu3+/Eu2+ system in propionic acid media
Description
The electrochemical reduction of Eu3+ in propionic media was studied by means of current reversal chronopotentiometry and cyclic chronopotentiometry. It is shown that the charge transfer reaction is followed by a chemical reaction in which Eu2+ ion is reoxidized to the trivalent ion (catalytic reaction scheme). The reaction rate constant is k=1.1x10=lmol1s1. (orig.)
