The influence of the erosion processes on the migration of radionuclides

Description

The main factor of radionuclide redistribution over the territory is the process of water and air erosion of soils. In Belarus the value of erosion with water washing is in the limits 0 - 0.7 tonne/hectare/year. Radioactive particles are removing in the volume of erosion material. The schemes of calculation of radionuclide redistribution on the short and long ploughing slopes are proposed. It is shown that erosion processes at intensively explored territories can contribute to spreading the squares of radioactive contamination or to increasing the density of contamination. Especially unfavourable can be the involvement into active use a new lands in contaminated regions. 9 refs., 2 figs
