Description
To ensure complete combustioin in an excess-air or an air deficiency type incineration furnace, a postcmbustion chamber should be installed at primary combustion (or pyrolyzing) chamber outlet. This eliminates a maximum of gases and combustible solid particlesentrained by the offgas exhaust system. Such esign also prevents too rapid clogging of filters and alleviates the risk of fire or explosion in the cold portions of the incinerator. For a postcombustion facility to be beneficial and efficient, it should make optimum use of three variables: temperature, turbulence, and residence time
