Behavior of impurities in BWR primary system water and suppression techniques

  • 1. Hitachi Engineering Co. Ltd., Ibaraki (Japan)

Description

In order to extend the operating life of a plant, and maintain the function of a equipment, it is important to keep high purity in primary system water. Primary system water of typical BWR plants have been investigated to estimate behavior of impurities. Consequently main impurities in reactor water were sulfate, nitrate, sodium, and chromates. The main source of impurities were the leachable from resin in condensate polishing system. So we are proposed the techniques which suppress leachable from resin. The application of the techniques are expected to accomplish high purity in the primary system water. (author)
