PIXE work at the University of Manitoba

Description
20-50 MeV protons from the University of Manitoba sector focussed cyclotron are used to study the K-shell ionization process and the emission of K X-rays from intermediate and heavy elements. The usefulness of PIXE as an analytical tool in the study of such elements is discussed, and the nature of a satellite peak identified. (Auth.)
