Double sulfobismuthites of Ce-subgroup rare earths

  • 1. AN Azerbajdzhanskoj SSR, Baku (Azerbaijan). Inst. Fizicheskoj i Neorganicheskoj Khimii

Description

Conditions for formation of cerium subgroup rare earth elements sulfobismuthites are studied through methods of differential thermal, x-ray phase and microstructural analyses. State diagrams of the Ln2S3-Bi2S3 (Ln = La, Ce, Pr, Nd) systems are plotted. Formation of the LnBiS3 and Ln4Bi2S9 type compounds and a wide homogeneity area on the basis of source sulfides is established. It is found that the Ln4Bi2S9-type compounds are crystallized in rhombic syngony with the lattice parameters a = 28.60-28.40, b = 4.06-4.02, c = 12.80-12.74 A. 11 refs., 6 figs., 1 tab
