The quality of glass products from LEWC-simulate solidification

Description

The paper describes recipes of LEWC, of LEWC simulate and of the tested glass frits as well as a survey of production. The vitrification process works with LEWC simulate. Only SM513 LW11 meets the requirements made on the vitrification behaviour. The yellow phase exists permanently in the upper melt. It causes additional CS and Sr extraction. Monolithic blocks of glass can be manufactured within a cycle of the WA-350, if the ingot moulds have a ceramic lining. (DG)

Rezepturen des LEWC, des LEWC-Simulats und der erprobten Glasfritten sowie eine Produktionsuebersicht werden beschrieben. Das Verfahren zur Verglasung funktioniert mit LEWC-Simulat. Nur SM513 LW11 genuegt den Anforderungen, wenn das Entglasungsverhalten zu beruecksichtigen ist. Die Gelbe Phase ist im oberen Schmelzbad immer vorhanden und bedingt einen zusaetzlichen Austrag von Cs und Sr. Monolithische Glasbloecke lassen sich innerhalb der Taktzeiten einer WA 350 herstellen, sofern die Kokillen mit einer keramischen Auskleidung versehen sind.
