The screening effect of the projectile electrons of inner shell excitation

Description

The screening effect of the projectile electrons in cases of 1s-2p excitation and L-shell ionization is investigated in the framework of the semiclassical approximation. This approach allows to take into consideration the change of the screening with the impact parameter and with the position of the projectile along his path. The dependence of the screening effect on the projectile energy and ionic charge is discussed. (author)
