A new Zintl phase Sn1.9Cu4.7P22I8 with a structure of the clathrate-1: directional synthesis and structure

Description
New tin-copper phosphideiodide Sn19.3Cu4.7P22I8 (I) is obtained as a result of the two-stage pulse synthesis carried out on the basis of its composition forecast with application of the Zintl electron calculation scheme. The crystal structure I is determined by the data of monocrystal roentgenodiffraction experiment. The compound I is crystallized by the clathrate-I-type in cubic syngony, sp. gr. Pm3-bar n, a = 10.847(1) A, Z = 4. Three-dimensional framework, built-up of tin, copper and phosphorus atoms, wherein large hollows of two types are occupied by iodide atoms constitutes the basis of the structure. All phosphorus positions in I are completely occupied in contrast to the Sn24P19.3I8

Новый фосфидиодид олова-меди Sn19.3Cu4.7P22I8 (I) получен в результате двухстадийного импульсного синтеза, проведенного на основе предсказания его состава с использованием схемы электронного подсчета Цинтля. Кристаллическая структура I определена по данным монокристаллического рентгенодиффракционного эксперимента. Соединение I кристаллизуется по типу клатрата-I в кубической сингонии, пр. гр. Pm3-bar n, a = 10.847(1) A, Z = 4. Основу структуры составляет трехмерный каркас, построенный из атомов олова, меди и фосфора, в котором большие пустоты двух типов занимают атомы иода. Все позиции атомов фосфора в I полностью заселены в отличие от структуры Sn24P19.3I8Additional details
