Description
A radiochemical procedure is described for neutron activation analysis of As, Cd, Cu, Sn and Zn in beef extract samples. It is based on combined precipitation steps. Interferences from threshold reactions are discussed and calculated. Results are given for analysis of six samples. The interference calculations showed that bromine interference to arsenic determination is negligible. For zinc interference in copper determination significant interference factors have been found. The technique is suitable for routine analysis of a large number of samples, being realizable in a standard radiochemical laboratory. Good yields are attained and nuclides are isolated in a very high degree of purity. Detection limits are between 0.01 and 1 ppm. (T.G.)
