Description
At present, full field digital mammography (FFDM) is still the preferred method for early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer. Digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) technology can overcome the main limitation in conventional FFDM, i. e. the interference form the overlapping fibroglandular tissue, can enhance the visibility of breast lesions, significantly improve the sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis, and can effectively reduce the recall rate. The advantages and limitations of DBT in breast screening were reviewed. (authors)
