Description
The consequences of radioactive fallout on the contamination of feedstuffs and cattle were investigated. The retention of iodine 131, cesium 134, rutenium 103 and potassium 40 was measured in thyroid, muscle, lung, kidney, liver and milk of 31 cattle. The model of SUMMERLING and CRICK for prediction of the course of retention was used. The results obtained in living animals corresponded well to those obtained at slaughter. (orig.)
