DSP-based algorithms for simulation of nuclear electronic units

Description

Digital processing of the signals from nuclear radiation detectors are becoming widely used. This work describes algorithms for simulation of the most popular nuclear electronic units (constant fraction discriminator, delay units, time-code converter, amplitude-code converter and etc.) It is shown that the results obtained by such subroutines compete with the ones obtained with analog units. In addition, application of the subroutines allows one to achieve fundamentally new processing quality, high degree of accuracy and repeatability of the results, flexibility, stability of work, low sensitivity to noise and etc. compared with analog units. The examples of the systems for pulse-height and timing determination based on described subroutines are given
