Description
In collisions of heavy few-electron projectile ions with light targets, an electron can be transferred from the target with the simultaneous excitation of a projectile electron. We study the angular distribution of deexcitation x rays following the resonant capture process. Our results are compared to experimental values of Ma et al. [Phys. Rev. A 68, 042712 (2003)] for collisions of U91+ ions with a hydrogen gas target
