On the inductive influence of organometallic groups M(CO)mCpn and HgM(CO)mCpn (M = Co, Mo, Mn, Fe, Re)

On the basis of relationships obtained for IR spectra of carbonyl complexes of transition metals, inductive constants of organometallic fragments M(CO)mCpn and Hg(CO)mCpn (M = Co, Mo, Mn, Fe, Re) have been determined. The change of acceptor properties of organometallic fragments is shown to be in accordance with the change of nucleophilicy of anions Fe(CO)2Cp > Re(CO)5 > Mn(CO)5 > Mo(CO)3Cp > Co(CO)4. 10 refs.; 3 tabs
