Synthesis and characterization of dinuclear ruthenium(II) complexes with di anion of 2,5-dihydroxy-l,4-benzoquinone as bridging ligand

Description
The ruthenium complexes of the type [((phen)2Ru)2(μ-L)] (ClO4)2, (((py)4Ru)2(μ-L)](ClO4)2, [((PPh3)3Ru)2(μ-L)](ClO4)2 and [((Me2S0)3)Ru)2(μ-L)](Cl)2 (where phen=1,10-phenanthroline, py=pyridine. PPh3=triphenylphosphine, Me2S0=dimethyl- sulphoxide and L=di anion of 2,5-dihydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone) have been synthesised and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, NMR and voltammetric studies.
