Study Of The Direction And The Spread Of The Water Seepage From Batur Lake Using Natural Isotope Oxygen-18 And Deuterium

Description
Lake water entering the rocks tend to trough the fracture. But fracture zone is difficult to observe at the field. For this study, natural isotop composition oxygen-18 and Deuterium from lake water, rain water and spring water at surrounding Batur lake will be analyzed. Natural isotopes composition of lake water is influenced by fractionation process as the result of the continuous evaporation process. The fractionation process will make light isotopes 16O and 1H evaporate and the remaining have more of heavier isotopes like 18O and 2H (Deuterium). This process is enrichment process, there will be a clear differences in the natural isotopes composition among differences sources such as rain water and spring water. This anomaly can be used to indicated flow difection of wter sexpage. The result of the data that the direction of seepagearound Menanga, (Rendang)
