Pool boiling heat transfer to liquid helium and liquid nitrogen in a nearly zero gravity environment
- 1. Los Alamos Scientific Lab., N.Mex. (USA)
Description
A rocket-borne experiment was designed to obtain steady data on nucleate boiling heat transfer to liquid helium and liquid nitrogen in a nearly zero gravity environment. The experiment was successfully launched and was maintained at nearly zero gravity for five and one-half minutes. Under this condition the peak nucleate heat flux was reduced below the 1 g value. The results obtained are presented. (author)
