A new 'Spring-Thunder' bound-wave EMP simulator in accord with HEMP standard

Description

IEC 61000-2-9 is a typical high altitude nuclear electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) waveform standard which is widely cited. It define the early-time HEMP waveform with risetime in 2.5 ±0.3 ns, pulse width in 23 ±5 ns. 'Spring-Thunder' bound-wave EMP simulator has been rebuilt for this standard including these steps. The pulsed power system use a 300 kV Marx generator within a metal housing filled with the insulating gas SF6; A peaking circuit pulse launch system contained within a plastic housing filled with the insulating gas SF6; The waveguide chosen a front cone angle of 15° and a back cone angle of 45° with maximal height in 5 m and maximal width in 6 m due to the room limit. The temina l load use resistor in parallel and in series. Experiments results in accord with HEMP standard. The simulator can used in big assembly EMP effect and hardening experiment studying.
