Source of additional diffusion resistance during extraction by amine salts

Description
Using a conductometric probe the kinetics for water- and uranyl sulfate extraction by TOA salts is studied. The extraction rate in a diffusion cell with mixing in a certain range of Reynolds numbers is shown to be independent of their magnitude. This is explained by the occurrence of additional diffusion resistance of the near-surface region as result of formation of supersaturation- and microheterogeity zones in the region
