Passive shut-down of ITER plasma by Be evaporation
Description
In an accident event where the cooling system of first wall of the ITER fails, the first wall temperature continues to rise as long as the ignited state of the core plasma persists. In this paper, a passive shut-down scheme of the ITER from this accident by evaporated Be from the first wall is examined. It is shown the estimated Be influx 5 1024/sec is sufficient to quench the ignition. (author)
