Fractality in central collisions of 12C nuclei with Ne and Cu nuclei at 4.5·A GeV/c

Description
A multifractal analysis is carried out for charged-particle fluctuations in the pseudorapidity space of central C-(Ne, Cu) collisions at 4.5 GeV/c per nucleon. The multifractal spectral function is constructed, and the generalized dimensions are calculated. It is found that the particle pseudorapidity distributions are multifractal in nature. It is shown that the method is sensitive to multiparticle fluctuations, and indications of the nonstatistical character of these fluctuations are obtained. 29 refs., 7 figs
