Description

The deuteron angular distribution for the 12C(6Li,d)16O* has been measured at 20 MeV populating bound and unbound states of 16O. Analysis shows a dominance of breakup induced alpha transfer in comparison to a direct alpha transfer process for the bound states. The effect increases as the excitation energy of 16O decreases, maximizing at the ground state.
