Description
The main features of the OSS model regarding blocked fields are discussed. For 60Co gamma rays, 8 MV and 16 MV X-rays results of the OSS are compared with measurements. The systematic underestimation of the dose by 3% to 10% is caused mainly by improper use of the equivalent square principle and use of one reference dose table for both, blocked and normal fields. Recommendations to improve the OSS program are given. 7 refs.; 7 figs
