Multimode instability regimes of a strong-current electron beam in magnetized plasma
Description
Nonlinear dynamics of beam-plasma system instability for electron beams with small energy spread is analyzed. The paper focuses on studying the multimode regimes of beam instability. In the case of a strong-current beam the interaction between oscillations that belong to different oscillation branches is great. In the developed instability regime the modes of the most high-frequency oscillation branch of magnetized plasma which are close to resonance are primarily excited. 14 refs.; 6 figs
