Observation of events and the estimation of the production cross section of particels with a lifetime of 10-10 - 10-13 s by π- mesons at 50 GeV/c
Description
The results on the search for the new particles with lifetime of 10-14 - 10-13 s in interactions of π- mesons with nuclear photoemulsion at 50 GeV/c are presented. Six events (candidates to new particles) from 32551 inelastic primary interactions are found. Five events are the decays of neutral particles into two charged ones and one event is a decay charged particle into three charged particles. The estimation of a strange particle decay background is presented. The production cross section per nucleon for the observed events is estimated as (6+-3) μb
