Sorption processes in technology of rare alkali metals
Description
New evidence has been obtained that natural pyrolusite can be used for cesium extraction from poor solutions of 3-8 g/l concentration. Natural pyrolusite or that activated with moist steam provides for cesium concentration at the sorption stage by factors of 25-30 and 85, respectively. Cesium can also be sorbed by FCI type sorbents (ferrocyanic ionites). An attempt of direct cesium extraction from the pulps by ''Cesiit-7'' sorbent has been made. As a result of such sorption from pulps containing sulphuric acid, cesium concentration increased more than 2000 times, and that of rubidium 600 times
