Description
In this study, wheat was used as an indicator plant to observe the degradation of oily sludge in soil. The waste used in this investigation was an oily refinery sludge. Common sources of such a sludge are the bottoms of storage tanks, water-oil separation systems, flotation and biological waste water treatment units. This sludge contained about 10-55% of organic matter, 10-45% of hydrocarbon-oil and 0.6-1.1% of total nitrogen. The dewatered sludge was mixed with the soil from farmland at ratios of 10%, 20% and 30% winter wheat seed were sown
