Comparison of models discribing cladding deformations during LOCA

Description

This report compares the important models for the determination of cladding deformations during LOCA. In addition to the comparisons of underlying assumptions of different models the same is done for the coefficients applied for the models. In order to assess the predictive capability of the models the calculated results are compared with the experimental results of the individual claddings. It was found out that the results of temperature ramp tests could be calculated better than that of the pressure ramp tests. The calculations revealed that even with the simplified assumption of the model used in TESPA the agreement of the calculated results with those of model NORA was relatively good. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

Dieser Bericht befasst sich mit dem Vergleich verschiedener Modelle, die zur Errechnung der Huellrohrdeformation waehrend eines Kuehlmittelverluststoerfalles von Bedeutung sind. Zusaetzlich zu den Annahmen werden hier auch die in den Modellen verwendeten Koeffizienten verglichen und gegenuebergestellt. Zur Beurteilung der Aussagefaehigkeit der Modelle werden die experimentell ermittelten Ergebnisse aus Einzelstabversuchen herangezogen und mit den Rechnungen verglichen. Es wird festgestellt, dass die Ergebnisse der Temperaturrampenversuche besser zu errechnen sind als diejenigen von Druckrampenversuchen. Die Nachrechnungen lassen den Schluss zu, dass trotz der Einfachheit des Modells TESPA die Uebereinstimmung der Ergebnisse von NORA und TESPA bei den Temperaturrampenversuchen relativ gut ist.
