Electron ordering in metals and intermetallic compounds
Description
Based on the crystallographic theory of the atom electron shell geometric shape structure determinations of the electron ordering for metal and intermetallide series are given. Accoding to the theory considered all atoms and ions, their electron shells having crystallographically completed shape of a cube, tetrahedron, octahedron and 10-vertex cages, are stable. Examples of ordered location of free electrons in α-Li; α-, γ-Fe; Cu; α-Be; α, β-Ti; Mg and Al crystal structre and for a number of Laves phases of MgCu2 type (TiBe2, BeAu2, CeMg2, ZrV2, NbCr2, LaAl2, ZrZn2) are presented. A conclusion is made that intermetallide compound chemical composition stoichiometry is determined by crystallographic conditions of the correspondence of the total number of free electrons to the sum of multiplicities of regular systems of points where they are located. This regularity refers to the whole class of intermetallides
