An estimate on the purely imaginary poles of scattering matrix
Description
In this work we obtain two estimates (upper and lower) on the number of purely imaginary poles of the scattering matrix for the wave equation in the exterior of a compact smooth obstacle in Rn, n ≥ 3 odd. The method of Lax and Phillips is used. (author). 5 refs
