Description
Full Text:The High-Energy Physics community is preparing itself for a new high energy e+e- International Linear Collider (ILC). In this connection the question whether the two beams should be longitudinal polarized is still an open issue. From past experience it is known that polarizing the electron beam was found to be very useful. Here the advantages of having also the positron beam polarized will be discussed. Assuming a positive answer to this topic, a method to obtain this polarization build-up will be outlined, including its current R and D efforts through the DESY-SLAC E-166 project
