Impact parameter dependence and universality of the short range part of π-N partial waves
Description
The equivalent elastic phases for pion-nucleon scattering have been calculated. They show an unexpected universality as functions of the impact parameter. This implies that the short-range interaction in the physical partial waves is to a large extent independent of isospin, orbital angular momentum and the orientation of the nuclear spin, and depends on the impact parameter only
