Estimation of efficiency of radionuclide interception by water-security bed pits of the Pripyat' river

Description

Character of radionuclide distribution according to size fraction of drifts was investigated in different seasons to estimate efficiency of river bed pits as water-security constructions. Hydraulic conditions for sedimentation different fraction drifts at deeping sections were considered in different periods. Discharge of drifts and radionuclides of the Pripyat' river was studied during long time. A conclusion was made on low efficiency of river bed pits in interception and localization of radionuclides. 2 figs.; 7 tabs
