Development of Ion source and RF Transmitter System for Superconducting Cyclotron

Description

Ο Development of 14 GHz ECR ion source and variable RF transmitter system for superconducting cyclotron. Ο ECR ion source is one of the key technologies for superconducting cyclotron. Ο Design and fabrication of 14 GHz ECR ion source for C6+ 20 μA ion beam. Ο Design of 70 kW 24-48 GHz variable RF transmitter system, and test a 2.5 kW driver module. Ο The designed magnetic field of maximum 1.7 T with solenoid coil and 1.2 T with hexapole magnet have been certified by the measurement, and ECR plasma has bee made with the fabricated 14 GHz ECR ion source. Ο 70 kW 24-48 GHz variable RF transmitter system has been designed, and a 2.5 kW driver module for it has been tested. Ο ECR ion source technology could be matured in Korea with this project. Ο Development of ECR ion sources for Heavy Ion Accelerators that are planned in Korea
