Wood logs: structuring the sector in order to develop employment and improve air quality
Description
This publication first proposes a brief overview of the economic weight of the wood log sector (production, jobs, sector development), evokes efforts made for a better relationship between wood log and the environment (log quality for air quality, and savings for the user), discusses the relationship between wood log and a sustainable forest management. Four measures are proposed: implementation of a national communication campaign, development of a sector of production of high quality wood fuel, incentive for the use of labelled wood-fired heating equipment and wood fuels, and reduction of the VAT for high quality wood fuels
