Description
Metabolic radiotherapy by iodine-131 has an important role in the treatment of locally advanced thyroid cancer after surgery, at all stages, in combination with external beam radiotherapy for stage including pT4N1b. Finally, the analysis of these results shows an improvement in the rate of loco-regional control (cervical relapse at 4 / 725 patients, 0.6%) and survival rates, with a lower risk of distant metastatic dissemination(32/725, 4.5% ).
