Extraction of short-wave radiation from gas plasma at atmospheric pressure

  • 1. Tomsk Polytechnic Institute (USSR)

Description

A device for extraction of radiation (λ < 100 nm) from a gas at atmospheric pressure is described. The spectral instrument is filled with helium (neon) at a pressure that coincides with the pressure of the gas under study. The window has a cross-section of 2 x 6 mm; the observation time, which is limited by gas diffusion, is several minutes. The valve has been used to study the radiation spectra of plasmas of inert gases with excitation by a high-current electron beam
