Description
An analysis of a number of methods used to affect the state of metallic melts and crystallization parameters is made. The methods are divided into three large groups: 1- melt modifying with active elements (REE, alkaline earth metals, boron); 2- introduction of particles to produce chemical or phase heterogeneity over the melt; 3- application of physical methods of action on the melt. A consideration is given to voluminous experimental results on chromium iron and nickel base alloys (ZhS6U, ZhS32, LZh1I and others). It is concluded that the given structure and properties of cast products should be achieve by rational combination of various methods. 13 refs., 4 figs., 4 tabs
