The retarding potential analyzer aboard the satellite TAIYO

Description

A retarding potential analyzer is included among the satellite TAIYO payloads. A planar retarding potential trap is mounted on the top of the boom of the satellite. The primary object is to measure the ion temperature and density in the ionosphere and the lower part of the magnetosphere. The sensor and electronics are described. (auth.)
