Present state of overall inspection implementation on safety of the Monju reactor
Description
Inspection of the equipments fixed to the Monju reactor was investigated on their inspection methods by the safety overall inspection team to examine their inspection results after confirming their validity of inspection method of the Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corporation (PNC) according to inspection contents conducted as case inspection. Furthermore, out of the inspection equipments, some description contents selected optionally by the team among some equipments affecting large effect on safety of nuclear reactor when losing their functions or troubling operational continuity of the reactor without any effect on its safety. And, for inspection of the manuals on safety of the Monju, their validity and consistency of the inspection contents by PNC were investigated by laying some heavy points on response to an accident. At last, some improvement measures on expansion protection and system on accident after leakage of sodium under present consideration by PNC were also investigated. (G.K.)
