Description
Highlights: • BiFe1−xNixO3 (x = 0–0.2) films deposited by chemical deposition technique. • Grains size: 55–60 nm (pristine BFO) and 95–100 nm (BiFe1−0.2Ni0.2O3). • Elastic modulus of the films: 51 GPa (pristine BFO) to 80 GPa (BiFe1−0.2Ni0.2O3). • Hardness of the films: 7.5 GPa (pristine BFO) to 14.5 GPa (BiFe1−0.2Ni0.2O3). • Hardness of the films is found to be following inverse Hall–Petch relation.
