France's carbon footprint from 1995 to 2022 - Last results
Description
In 2022, according to provisional estimates, France's carbon footprint is estimated at 623 million tons of CO2 equivalent (Mt CO2 eq). After the historic drop in emissions linked to the health crisis, emissions returned to a level equivalent to that of 2019. For the entire population, the carbon footprint is estimated at 9.2 t CO2 eq per person. Emissions associated with imports account for more than half (56%) of the footprint. The carbon footprint is composed of 78% CO2, 16% CH4 and 5% N2O. Compared with 1995, France's carbon footprint has decreased by 7%. Domestic emissions fell by 33%, while emissions associated with imports rose by 32%

En 2022, selon des estimations provisoires, l'empreinte carbone de la France est estimee a 623 millions de tonnes equivalent CO2 (Mt CO2 eq). Apres la chute historique des emissions liee a la crise sanitaire, les emissions retrouvent un niveau equivalent a celui de l'annee 2019. Ramenee a l'ensemble de la population, l'empreinte carbone est estimee a 9,2 t CO2 eq par personne. Les emissions associees aux importations representent plus de la moitie (56%) de l'empreinte. L'empreinte carbone est composee pour 78% de CO2, 16% de CH4 et 5% de N2O. Par rapport a 1995, l'empreinte carbone de la France a diminue de 7%. Les emissions interieures se sont reduites de 33 % tandis que les emissions associees aux importations se sont accrues de 32%
