- 1. National Cancer Institute of Health Ministry of Ukraine, Kiev (Ukraine)
Description
The paper deals with posthoc analysis of treatment and monitoring of patients with thyroid differentiated cancer microcarcinomas. In order to make an assessment of treatment outcomes of patients after surgical treatment, associated with thyroid differentiated cancer microcarcinomas, who had undergone radioactive iodine therapy in combination with suppressive L-thyroxin hormonotherapy and only with suppressive hormonotherapy, the analysis of comprehensive treatment efficacy in 153 patients aged from 19 to 70 (15 male and 141 female patients) was carried out. It has been established, that the presence of signs of metastasis to regional lymph nodes in 16.2% of patients with thyroid differentiated cancer microcarcinomas, obtained by pathohistological study and in 5.2% by scintigraphic study, requires obligatory postoperative diagnostic scintigraphy with 131I that will make it possible to clarify whether radioactive iodine therapy should be administered.
