Distribution of pitting corrosion spots over metal surface

Description
The distributions by dimensions of the corrosion spots on the surface of the [Fe - 0.12 C - 9 Ni - (8-18) Cr] stainless steels, formed in the 3% NaCl solution, are studied. It is established, that the above distributions are thermodynamically optimized and described by the Gibbs expression for the canonic distribution of the thermodynamic probability of the energy fluctuations. The explanations of the pitting rate of occurrence and the spots wide variation by dimensions are proposed

Изучены распределения по размерам пятен коррозии на поверхности нержавеющих сталей [Fe - 0.12 C - 9 Ni - (8-18) Cr], образовавшихся в 3%-ном растворе NaCl. Найдено, что распределения термодинамически оптимизированы и описываются выражением Гиббса для канонического распределения термодинамической вероятности флуктуаций энергии.
